Lesley has been practicing and teaching yoga for 12 years. She started as she felt she wanted to reinvent herself after qualifying as an osteopath, having four wonderful children then becoming a single mother which was quite overwhelming. But yoga quickly goes beyond finding an honest living, she feels it is a most helpful guide to any path in life. In 2008 she had the good fortune to go to India with a group lead by Yogamani Sarswati, staying in Ashram in Bihar. She is very thankful for the love to the souls of her feet for that incredible place and time.
She has since study and become a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist and finds this compliments her yoga practice.
Tuesdays: 6:30 - 7:30pm with Georgina
A journey through the chakras vinyasa flow.
We will focus on one chakra each week and pair this with a movement sequence that relates to that chakra. Sessions include learning about each chakra, asana, pranayama, and meditation. A chakra is a spinning bioenergetic wheel or disc located in seven specific areas of the body. These seven discs are spread from the base of the spine to the top of the head. It is a centre that receives, absorbs, and expresses life force energy. They are not physical, yet they have a strong effect on the body. When out of balance, our chakras can contribute to emotional
and physical afflictions. Bringing knowledge to these chakras can help us to feel more balanced and bring awareness to our bodies.
Georgina embraces the uniqueness of each body within her teaching. She encourages people to listen to the body and respond with any movements the body wants or needs. Georgina incorporates yoga into her everyday life and her classes are an extension of her daily practice. She has a level two certificate in Reiki and finds this complements her yoga practise. Georgina has a background in primary school teaching and recently explored the wonderful world of yoga teaching. She believes that through yoga we can gain greater awareness of the true nature of ourselves.
